India has a huge population of disabled people who are not just marginalized but have no social
recognition. We seldom find a differently abled person in a supermarket, in buses or on busy roads. This
is because not all the public places are disabled-friendly.
Not only is it difficult for an able bodied active person to suddenly cope with a new lifestyle; we as a
society do not make it any better. To instill confidence and courage and make them feel not just better,
but the best, is what AMF all about. This is done by helping them make the most of what they have.
Sport brings good health, regains confidence and helps you have a goal with a spirit of achievement.
We have supported 100+ physically challenged persons with prosthetic limbs, sporting equipment and
sponsorships which cost anywhere between Rs.40,000 to Rs. 50,000 per person. Through the funds
raised from the Infinity Ride 2018, we aim to support 100 more athletes, and train them to win laurels
for the country at the 2020 Paralympics.
The Infinity Ride is our signature fund raising event for each year. We build a team of riders who join
the founder, Aditya Mehta, to act as fund raisers for the Foundation while riding their bicycles over long
distances between Indian cities.
The funds we raise from this ride help us to increase the scope of our operations and support more and
more physically challenged people. These funds are utilized to provide people with prosthetic limbs,
specialised sports equipment, sponsorships and training.
