Venkatesh

I am V. Venkatesh, an actively practicing advocate from Tirupur in Tamil Nadu. I started cycling regularly from August, 15th, 2021. So far my longest ride is 107 Kms. (100 Kms in 5 Hr. 54 Mins).  After I started cycling on a regular basis I got involved with two Cycling Clubs namely; Tirupur Riders Club (exclusively for weekend long distance rides) and ECO Riders (group of people who ride daily with me).

After engaging with these two clubs, I have gained huge confidence and it really motivates me a lot for regular rides and long rides as well. According to me, cycling is the biggest stressbuster. Exploring new routes, locations and at times a small hill, gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction which is beyond words of expression.

What motivated me for this:

The inspiring story pulled me in towards AMF and was really a morale booster to keep going forward. The reason I wanted to ride this is; first of all is to Create Awareness about Para Sports. Frankly saying I wasn’t much aware about Para Sports earlier. So I wanted to become a torch bearer of Para Sports and make people more aware through best possible ways and means. I hope I can raise funds in the best possible way. I won’t say it is a disability, it’s a Different way of Ability. When it comes to Para Sports it gives a huge possibility and confidence to overcome all hurdles and motivates other normal people that they can do anything and everything is possible. Our life’s path is filled with hurdles but it doesn’t mean that we cannot reach our destiny.  With passion, patience and due guidance, Everything is Possible!

I’m very excited, honoured and eagerly looking forward to be a part of this ride!

Why am I doing this?

The Aditya Mehta Foundation is a NGO that supports physically challenged people in our nation to pursue sports and supports them from the grassroot level by providing counseling, training, equipment and helps them live a life with dignity. Since their inception the foundation has supported more than 150 para-athletes with prosthetic limbs, specialized sports equipment, and sponsorships. This sort of support costs anywhere in between Rs 40,000/- to Rs. 5 lakhs per person.

A proud moment for AMF is that many of these para athletes have won more than 100 plus national and international medals for our country. The upcoming Infinity Ride is a fundraising ride which helps the foundation support more such people, with the aim of unlocking their true potential and lead more fulfilling lives, while putting up a strong Indian Contingent at the 2024 Paralympics.

AMF is now geared up for our Infinity Ride 2021 – Hyderabad to Gokarna from December 22nd to 27th 2021. The theme for this ride, while promoting para-sports, is ‘Say No to Drugs’ and to adopt children with disability to train them in para-sports.

Together, we can all help make a difference in the world of Para-Athletes! We are excited and raring to ride! Are you?!

Contribute to make a difference.
